The show about that thing you love
The gorgeous and moving story of a child escaping into a world of his own imagination to escape the hard realities of his life made for incredible cinema, in the opinion of Trevor Hildebrandt (and to host Christian Hagen). Where The Wild Things Are has gotten flak on the internet for being too complex and often frightening for children and for not holding to the spirit of the book. But as Trevor and Christian would be quick to tell you, Where the Wild Things Are is a great film about children, not a great film for children. Its intricate mix of children’s psychology and fantasy can be uncomfortable, but it feels disarmingly real and perfectly true to anyone who remembers the feeling of being a kid having a hard time.
Trevor pitched the movie in episode four.
